Quote of the Day

"Try to learn something about everything and everything about something." Thomas Huxley

Sounds like my bachelor's degree. Then my Master's. Except I don't really know everything about anything, so sometimes something simple can seem so simply soothing so as to solidify solids to liquids whilst songbirds sing during six sweet sunsets...Superbly silly...sorry, I'm sleepy. :-)

I like this quote. It is good to be well-rounded and interested in many topics. That would be the, "know something about everything part." However, it is also nice to be an expert at something. That is the, "know everything about something part." I played utility in softball. So, I knew something about everything. The problem was that since I was used a little bit everywhere, I never got to know everything about something. That is probably why I only played on junior varsity. :-(.

This is something that interests me very much. I have always liked history and science. I absord the most abstract of facts. Ask my daughters. They generally expected dad to give them some odd fact about things as we went on our travels and vacations. Alas, some of these facts fit perfectly in my Special Education student roster to assist them in understanding tidbits of information. EXAMPLE: Did you know that the average "toot" ( I opted to not use the vulgar yet more accepted term)weighs nine nanograms? Every scent or smell has weight. Sorry Tracy. This probably took you back to "dad's facts"!

Hmmm, so not only does our stomach feel better afterwards, we could argue that it is also a weight-loss strategy...what a gas!

Sorry,

I never really minded the useless fact of the day or short history lessons. I just pretended to so that Melissa would think I was cool. ;-).

And, Derrick....I'm not sure that the toot=weight loss would work. I found that it takes 453,592,370,000 nanograms to equal one pound. So, either make enough nanograms to lose some weight, or hold it in. :-)..Ewww.
