Crocodile Hunter Dies

Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin has died as a result of a Sting Ray bite.

"He came on top of the stingray and the stingray's barb went up and into his chest and put a hole into his heart," said Stainton, who was on board Irwin's boat at the time.

That stinks. Though it is by the grace of God that he has lived this long. He had done some pretty crazy things. As some have stated in his memory, it is fitting that he died doing something he loved.

R.I.P. Crocodile Hunter.

Some say that life is too short, and I truly hope he knew the Lord in a saving way. Death's sting (no pun intended) is softened by the true hope that you will see your loved one again in heaven. My hope and prayer is that when folks point upward and say that we'll see you soon Steve, that it is not an empty hope, but one that is grounded in the promise of a risen Savior and Mr. Irwin's acceptance of God's plan of salvation.

Thank You Derrick, for saying it the way it is. Some print has offered how Steve " took chances " and died young because of it. I disagree. Indeed, some risks are greater than others. But, who is to measure the individual? A risk to one is a walk in the park to others. This weekend, I managed a way to get up on a kneeboard for the first time in my 51 years. I was not quite the acrobat in doing so, but I made my premise and challenge a done deal. Thus our friend, Steve. His life was his own. He made his choices and lived by them. I feel that he educated many people on wildlife situations. His death further proved his message in life. I wish to meet him in heaven some day.

It is true that at least he died doing something that he loved. But, it is so sad that he is leaving behind his wife and two kids. Steve Irwin's dad was on the news saying that he may take over Steve's work until the kids are old enough to do it. And I do hope that he did know Christ.
