I know it has been a while since a post. I am trying to limit my time online so I can spend some time with my Beloved. Since I have a limited time, I have been working on selling items on eBay instead of blogging. Sorry. I don't make a whole lot selling old CDs but it is fun. A new habit for me, sort of. :-)
Here is a good primer to the Michael J. Fox thing. It must be election season and the cause must be embryonic stem cell research since the celebrities are out asking us to vote a certain way.
Many, including Michael J. Fox, suggest that a particular bill in Missouri is not about cloning.
"Limbaugh asserts, however, that language in the bill — a reference to somatic cell nuclear transfer — is just another term for cloning."
Stand to Reason and Pro-Life Training make the distinction between two different types of cloning. One, reproductive cloning, is the idea that a clone is made and the person becomes a member of our society, that is, he or she lives. Theraputic cloning, on the other hand, clones human embryos to destroy, through, the extraction of the stem cells. The only difference is whether the cloned embryo is nurtured to birth or destroyed through experiments.
I still am baffled at why politicians, and many others, are not standing behind the less morally controversial and more promising use of adult stem cells.
Also, a recent study seems to indicate that the implantation of stem cells is likely to lead to tumors since the cells begin mutating rapidly. The tumors seem to be benign, but still I wouldn't want a tumor in my brain or other sensitive area of, oh, who am I kidding...I would not want a tumor.
Sorry if this post is a little scattered. :-)

Theraputic cloning is nothing less that the mass production of children for the expressed use of killing them. An embryo is a child, no question.
I do think that is the case, or at least what it boils down to.
