Success

"You've achieved success in your field when you don't know whether what you're doing is work or play." Warren Beatty

This seems to hold true whether it focuses on our vocations (teaching, sales, ets) and our "jobs" as followers of Jesus of Nazareth. It is nice being in an occupation where I feel this way. Some days are more challenging than others, but for the most part, I leave school with good feelings about what I do.

I know this is something I have purposed to do because I have met many teachers, through the years, that are already retired, but are still in the classroom. Education is a difficult field, but this type of thing goes for most careers. At least that is the way I see it.

I also have good feelings about SDC students who are now high school students. I instilled self-confidence and tried very hard to remove the stigma of any student being any less or more than any other. Two of these kids are doing GREAT! They are both 18 years of age. When they see me driving up to my school, they come up and shake my hand or hug me. Indeed, I have seen over 500 students in my current position over the past seven years. But, two of my former students who really think I made a difference in their lives? Being a teacher is worth all that it took to get here.

I'm going to have to agree with you on that. :-)
