Prostituting the Vote

This article was written during the time of Clinton's run in 1996, but I think the views presented are done so in a relevant way. The issue: casting our vote for what is important.

Greg Koukl here references an LA Times article that was speaking to the issue of Clinton gaining support with Christian Evangelicals. He says:

[As I read this article in the L.A. Times, it says in the sub-heading,
"Healthy Economy and President's Focus on Family Help Pull Many of the Devout from the GOP Camp." What's amazing to me are statements like this from David Cauve, 53, a farmer in Kingston Springs, Tennessee. It says he doesn't agree with Clinton's support of legalized abortion, but in response to a Times poll last week, he said he is supporting the President because he likes Clinton's economic policies. Another poll shows that Clinton is holding at least a third of the evangelical support. A third of those who claim to be evangelicals are planning to vote for Clinton.

...How do we decide where our votes are to be cast? "

----He goes on to talk about the importance of Christians to have our political views be informed by our Christian worldview. And we ought to elcet folks who will be "good representatives for us to fulfill the godly purposes of government."
And we must look to the Bible to find out what that purpose is.

And you'll have to wait till tomorrow to find out what that purpose is. And it is not about wealth.
