Dirty Tricks

---Here is an email from the Capitol Resource Institute saying that the opponents of the Cal. Proposition 8, which wants marriage to be restored to recognizing one man and one woman as the only one that should be recognized by the government. It seems the opposition is not as confident letting the discussion and debate going on in the public square.

---What they have done is purchased the Yes on Prop 8 website & domain name. So, if you go to the website yes on prop 8, you will be directed to the no on prop 8 site. You can still get information on this topic by going to yes on proposition 8.

The internet has become a major factor in political campaigns. Many voters use the internet to assist them in making an informed decision. But just as political web sites can help a campaign, they can be used as political tools against opponents. That's the case with the Yes on Prop 8 web site.

Opponents of Proposition 8 and traditional marriage managed to purchase the "Yes on Prop 8" domain name and web site address. This means that they can then redirect people looking for information about supporting Proposition 8 to their web site opposing the proposition. It's a crafty political tactic, but legally opponents do own the domain name during this election cycle.

The key difference between our web site and our sneaky opponents is Prop versus Proposition 8. Yes on Prop 8 is owned by our opposition. However, Yes on Proposition 8 is our web site. When referring fellow voters to information about the marriage protection act, please direct them to Yes on Proposition 8. Make sure they spell out "proposition" when they type in the web site address or search on the internet.

It's obvious that our opposition in this campaign is deceitful and will stop at nothing to subvert our cause. Their mission is to confuse, obfuscate and outright lie. They will stop at nothing to get their way-even if it includes unethical and underhanded tactics.
