Books: The Shack - Review Links

The Shack seems pretty big these days, even with Christians. I have not read it, and I am not sure I will. The general consensis seems to be, as fiction it is ok to pretty good. As theology, it leaves something to be desired.

One point of view is that it is not a theological book; yes that is true, but it seems that many uninformed Christians are taking it as Gospel. And therein lies a big part of the danger of the book and its ideas. Whether you have read it or not, here are some links to some reviews that you can use to learn for yourself, or talk with your friends who love the book.

Here is the link to Fred Sanders and his reviews from different perspective.

The Shack is probably to real and honest for most mainstream Christian
the book will go against the grain of most conventional mainstream
Christian doctrines. It is not a book I would give to the narrow minded and comfortable Christian stick to your study bible.

I am not sure I fully understand your comment about mainstream Christianity.

What doctrines do you think it goes against? And do you think that is a good thing?

Thanks for posting,
