Quote of the Day- The Real Terrorists

Thankfully this guy didn't end up staying on as the nominee for the TSA (Transportation Security Administration) if he can't even figure out that the vast majority of attacks on America are not done by these folks he says we should be watching.

"Most of the domestic groups that we pay attention to here are white supremacist groups. They're anti-government, in most cases anti-abortion, they are usually survivalist type in nature, identity oriented...Those groups are groups that claim to be extremely anti-government and Christian-identity oriented."

Don't get me wrong, white supremacist groups are despicable. But last time I checked, no white "Chhristian" anti-abortion ran planes into the Trade Center Towers, brought an underwear bomb to blow up a plane, attacked the USS Cole, bombed the Trade Center in the '90s, etc...

But you anti-abortion Christian folks that don't like the Government, we better keep an eye out for you...

Well, in all fairness you want TSA to be on the lookout for all sorts of terrorists and potential likely threats.

Most terrorist attacks and events of late have not been the doing of reactionary American groups: true. However, these folks are still out there, and apparently they did bomb Oklahoma City in 1995, Atlanta in 1996, and also abortion clinics.

And think about the historical backdrop of those bombings. Militias were in the news. Waco and Ruby Ridge had just occurred. Radio airwaves were buzzing with talk of black helicopters and jack-booted thugs working for the gummint. There was distrust and loathing of government back then, and the same thing certainly exists right now.

Personally, I even think the whole Janet Napolitano news item about right-wing groups was blown out of proper proportion.

I'm definately not advocating the ignoring of any threats, but rather that most of the larger attacks have been by certain folks.

And I don't think that there are that many abortion clinic bombings. And they are not usually a part of any organized massive "club".

And when radical Muslims attack America, the press is nearly apologizing to the Muslim community and reaffirming the truth that not all Muslims are violent, rarely do you see that toward Christian folks who are against abortion. We are all nicely clumped together; there is little difference between us.

Not to mention the connection often made between Christian fundamentalists and Islamic fundamentalists, as if there is not an ocean of difference between the two.

I think I agree that the Napalitano thing was blown out of proportion, but still needed to be questioned a bit, or at least some clarification was needed.
