"A kingdom issue"

Baptist leader Richard Land backs citizenship for illegal immigrants tennessean.com The Tennessean

Mr. Land, is the “suffering” of illegal immigrants in America any worse than what they would face back home? And is it possible that this suffering is justified when someone brings it upon himself by breaking the law and defies authorities who according to your Bible work on God’s behalf and should be obeyed?

If the answer to both questions is no, then I also pose another question: Why take the easy way out by, apparently, simply proposing secure borders and amnesty for lawbreakers? Why not go all out and also call for measures which would make the peril and travails of illegal immigration unnecessary in the first place? For instance, Mexico is not a country which is a wasteland of natural resources or which utterly lacks potential to become an economic or technological powerhouse such as Japan, South Korea, or modern China....
