GLAAD says a negative review of the movie Brokeback Mountain by the Today show's movie critic, Gene Shalit, amounts to anti-gay prejudice, according to E Online.
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation says Shalit's reference to one character in the movie as a "sexual predator" who "tracks Ennis down and coaxes him into sporadic trysts" amounts to gay-bashing.
GLAAD is demanding an apology from NBC for promoting "defamatory anti-gay prejudice to a national audience."
I liked what one commentor said:
Let me see if I got this right:
1) A movie reiviewer
2) reviewed a movie
3) somebody didn't like the review
4) they weren't connected in any way with making the film
5) they want an apology for the bad review
Huh?
I demand a retraction and an apology from "Time" magazine because their
reviewer gave a bad rating to "Star Wars" in 1977 and I was deeply
offended!

Ever since Brokeback Mountain came out, (no pun intended) I have been saying that if anyone says anything even slightly negative about the movie, that there will be consequences. If you do not like something about the movie, you are automatically labeled with some name like "homophobic." I am not surprised about this at all.
