"One of the few good things about modern times: If you die horribly on television, you will not have died in vain. You will have entertained us." Kurt Vonnegut (1922 - )
It never seems entertaining on the news.

I dunno. That spanish version of America's Funniest Home Videos seems to think that people getting mangled by bulls and various other animals is pretty darn funny.
How I long for a morning newspaper headline that reads; Good things happened yesterday. There is not one murder, robbery, rape, terrorist threat, or negative news to report. Please enjoy the wonderful things that decent people have done yesterday. Alas, this is not a premise that is yet to sell newspapers or television news broadcasts.I am also a victim of such broadcast philosophy.I wait to see the kicker. How sad is that.
Russ,
yeah, probably not gonna happen. And when it does...well, it won't :-)
Not when we humans are sinful and do not choose to do good much of the time.
And since money is, as you allude to, the "real" bottom line it is unlikely that the media will deviate from what we keep on buying and buying into.

Derrick,
Good response. I wish I had this type of thing with my own dad. Maybe The Lord gives us a second chance, huh? Let me say that I am proud of you, happy that you are Tracy's husband, and would like to call you "son" once in awhile. If I had fathered a son, I would be proud if he had of turned out like you. Derrick, you rock. I mean that..
Russ, thank you. that means a lot.
