Universal Health Care

We are living in a world where government is god. If we just do what our politicians say we will have all of our needs met without any real effort on our part. But if we really look at government throughout history, it has always made situations worse. Evil men always seek places of power and will lie, cheat and steal to achieve their goals.

One of our current hubbubs is Nationalized Health care. Government providing all the means for everyone in America to receive health care sounds like a great idea, but what would it really do to the system? Watch this video for a brilliant illustration...

This video was humorous. While I think the Gov't often makes things worse, do you really think that it is "always" the case?

If you can give me an example to where government made things better and not worse over time, I'll change my opinion.

I'm still thinking. :-) I would suggest perhaps the US military is the best in the world.

Also, WIC (a program that gives women food to help their children eat better) seems pretty good, even if it could be more efficiently.

Oh, and the DMV and Post Office. Oh wait, those 2 aren't good examples.

I would imagine that there are not a few Black folks (not to mention womyn) who've benefited from the likes of Brown vs. Board/Education or the Civil Rights Acts of '60, '64, '68.

In any case, while governments tend to be effective in their divine role as commenders and punishers of the good and evil, resp., two things that they don't seem to manage very well are money and industry.

As of I believe the Clinton era (of course I could be mistaken) our military is being downsized dramatically. Not to mention that before the Twin Towers fell we had 2 or even 3 perfect opportunities to dispose of Osama Bin Laden that were directly dismissed on order of President Clinton. Don't get me wrong, I certainly believe we have the best military on the planet and God Bless it!

I believe that aid for the homeless, widows, and orphans should be provided through the Church. The Church has a much better ability to determine what someone needs than the Government. The problem far too often is not whether or not someone needs food, but that the person is not willing to lift even a finger in order to earn it. The Government does not see people's sin nature and therefore is hard pressed into recognizing it.
