Vote McCain

Go vote for McCain. He is not going increase the killing of innocent human life in the womb, he has better foreign policy experience, he thinks we are winning and can win the war in Iraq, he supports the idea that marriage is between one man and one woman, he wants less government involvment in our lives, so we can make the best financial decisions for our lives, He will not "punish" the rich because they have been successful and give their money to people who don't work or haven't been as successful.

He has more achievements as a senator that show he is more qualified to lead this country. His lifelong "friends" have not been shady. Among several other things...Vote for John McCain/ Sarah Palin.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Politics: Lay Off "Joe the Plumber"

Here is a great quote from McCain on the media attack against "Joe the Plumber." Followed by Hot Air's comments.

“Americans ought to be able to ask Senator Obama tough questions without being smeared and targeted with political attacks,” says Maverick, speaking for every conservative in America. Has The One’s campaign formally attacked J the P, though? I’d be shocked if they have, as that’s not their M.O. They like to leave the nastiest stuff, particularly in the racial vein, for their surrogates and for the media so that St. Barack can keep his hands clean. I assume Maverick’s accusing them of feeding oppo research on Wurzelbacher’s tax liens, etc, to the press under the radar, but even there I’m skeptical. Anyone think our very impartial media wasn’t willing to go dumpster diving on its own here?

I don't think the Obama camp formally attacked "Joe", but it does seem that the media does not like anyone to challenge their golden child. The media did not try to discredit the folks accused of yelling "kill him" (referring to Obama) at a Palin rally. It seems that would be more important than some who asks a qustion regarding Obama's Socialist idea of redistributing the wealth. But that's just me.

And the news media have not necessarily shown themselves to be anything close to objective this long election season.

This is an effective line of attack, especially on the funding issue. Obama pledged not to let his opposition to the war get in the way of funding troops in the field, and yet he voted against that funding. He wanted to impose timetables for precipitous withdrawal on the Bush administration, which would have crippled the surge, the successful strategy that has stabilized Iraq. It was a monumental error in judgment as well as a betrayal of Obama’s promise to the troops.

Here's a list from Hot Air detailing 14 of the "fabrications" the McCain Campaign had to to choose from, following the Biden/Palin debate.

1. TAX VOTE: Biden said McCain voted “the exact same way” as Obama to increase taxes on Americans earning just $42,000, but McCain DID NOT VOTE THAT WAY.

2. AHMEDINIJAD MEETING: Joe Biden lied when he said that Barack Obama never said that he would sit down unconditionally with Mahmoud Ahmedinijad of Iran. Barack Obama did say specifically, and Joe Biden attacked him for it.

3. OFFSHORE OIL DRILLING: Biden said, “Drill we must.” But Biden has opposed offshore drilling and even compared offshore drilling to “raping” the Outer Continental Shelf.”

4. TROOP FUNDING: Joe Biden lied when he indicated that John McCain and Barack Obama voted the same way against funding the troops in the field. John McCain opposed a bill that included a timeline, that the President of the United States had already said he would veto regardless of it’s passage.

5. OPPOSING CLEAN COAL: Biden says he’s always been for clean coal, but he just told a voter that he is against clean coal and any new coal plants in America and has a record of voting against clean coal and coal in the U.S. Senate.

6. ALERNATIVE ENERGY VOTES: According to FactCheck.org, Biden is exaggerating and overstating John McCain’s record voting for alternative energy when he says he voted against it 23 times.

7. HEALTH INSURANCE: Biden falsely said McCain will raise taxes on people’s health insurance coverage — they get a tax credit to offset any tax hike. Independent fact checkers have confirmed this attack is false

8. OIL TAXES: Biden falsely said Palin supported a windfall profits tax in Alaska — she reformed the state tax and revenue system, it’s not a windfall profits tax.

9. AFGHANISTAN / GEN. MCKIERNAN COMMENTS: Biden said that top military commander in Iraq said the principles of the surge could not be applied to Afghanistan, but the commander of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force Gen. David D. McKiernan said that there were principles of the surge strategy, including working with tribes, that could be applied in Afghanistan.

10. REGULATION: Biden falsely said McCain weakened regulation — he actually called for more regulation on Fannie and Freddie.

11. IRAQ: When Joe Biden lied when he said that John McCain was “dead wrong on Iraq”, because Joe Biden shared the same vote to authorize the war and differed on the surge strategy where they John McCain has been proven right.

12. TAX INCREASES: Biden said Americans earning less than $250,000 wouldn’t see higher taxes, but the Obama-Biden tax plan would raise taxes on individuals making $200,000 or more.

13. BAILOUT: Biden said the economic rescue legislation matches the four principles that Obama laid out, but in reality it doesn’t meet two of the four principles that Obama outlined on Sept. 19, which were that it include an emergency economic stimulus package, and that it be part of “part of a globally coordinated effort with our partners in the G-20.”

14. REAGAN TAX RATES: Biden is wrong in saying that under Obama, Americans won’t pay any more in taxes then they did under Reagan.

I like the one that has Biden commenting "what am I talking about?" He had just asked some guy that he "knew" to stand up...Except the man was in a wheelchair. :-/ Yikes! That is pretty embarassing.

I think McCain made a good stand and showed that he was a good leader when he stopped his campaign, a little too short in my opinion, to try and come to an agreement on the bailout.

He seemed more interested in showing he could put America ahead of his own bid for office. Much better than Obama's response of well, if you need me...

Here's Hot Air's Ed Morrisey's comments. Does it make complete sense to, in a sense, punish the large corporations by taxing the crap out of them? Does the Left think this is going to encourage that company to make more jobs, or less? read on for more comments.

Team McCain has managed to erode Obama’s lead on economic policy by continuing to attack his positions and votes on taxes and spending. Obama likes to cry foul at this, saying that his tax hikes would only affect the top 5% of American earners. That’s true, as far as direct impact, but Obama plans plenty of tax increases that would have an indirect and yet significant impact on the American economy, including a hike of capital-gains taxes that would cut off job creation and send a teetering economy further into a recession.

Future ads should make that more specific. Talk about how taxing investment means fewer jobs, and how payroll taxes mean fewer jobs, and how vastly increased government spending means fewer resources for the private sector — and fewer jobs. We also need more spots on how a kitchen-sink energy policy creates jobs and keeps American wealth inside America, which McCain discussed at the last presidential debate.

3. And he’s also right that oftentimes lobbyists and special interests are the ones that are introducing these kinds of requests ….

4. Now, John mentioned the fact that business taxes on paper are high in this country, and he’s absolutely right.

5. But John is right we have to make cuts. [And then Obama refused to note even a single cut he'd be willing to make.]

6. Senator McCain is absolutely right that the violence has been reduced as a consequence of the extraordinary sacrifice of our troops and our military families.

7. And, John, I — you’re absolutely right that presidents have to be prudent in what they say.

Geez, if McCain is right that often, why not just elect him President? I suspect that we’ll see even more ads on this subject. Note that this is ready to go on television as well as the Internet, and I’ll bet it gets significant play in battleground states for the next week or so.

This ad is funny talking about Biden's silly comment about how higher taxes is a patriotic act. Haha.


This one talks about a man named Jim Johnson, who not only served as an economic adviser to Obama but also originally ran his running-mate search committee:


Surely not voting for Obama has to do with his race. Um...no. It has to do with his values and the far left ideas that will not be good for this country.

I think this clearly shows McCain's strength as a leader.



Another strong ad from McCain showing his hope for our country instead of the doom and gloom coming often from Obama. America needs to change some things, but it is still the best country to live in.

McCain Ad: Crisis- Obama- McCain's a Liar

After seeing how loving the Mainstream Media is towards Senator Obama, it is not surprising that the quotes he gives (in the next ad) are from several publications that have not been unbiased in their coverage of McCain/Palin. This seems simliar to some racist white person quoting all his Arian friends in how much they dislike blacks to try and prove black people are bad. It seems to stack the deck a little.

I am not sure that this ad makes Obama look better. Check the link here for more commentary as to why Barack could be accused of the same type of things he is accusing McCain. that is what is difficult with the idea of "mudslinging" in a campaign. Both sides run the risk of appearing petty and whiny.

I guess Barack Obama doesn’t read Hot Air, nor listens to wisdom from our own Allahpundit. Team O got so flustered by today’s “Original Mavericks” ad that they rushed this new spot out today, apparently before doing some rudimentary fact-checking. It’s true that Palin didn’t start off opposing the bridge, but as Governor she made the decision to kill it. At least she moved in the right direction. Who voted for it in the first place? Not John McCain; he derided it on the Senate floor, despite it being a pet project from a Republican colleague. Two of the votes came from … Barack Obama and Joe Biden:

McCain Ad: Temple

---Here's an ad from a week or so ago, aired shortly after Invesco Field at the DNC. I thought the commentary was good over at hotair.com so I have added it as well. Please to enjoy. :-)

John McCain’s latest ad attempts to leverage the Greek temple from Barack Obama’s Invesco Field acceptance speech while tying him to the rest of his party as “more of the same”. The spot, called “Temple”, hammers the meta themes of higher taxes, more spending, and underscores their definition of Obama as a doctrinaire liberal rather than a post-partisan with new ideas on governance:

Expect more exploration of this theme as the general election proceeds. Obama likes to claim that he can heal the partisan divide, but he has no track record at any level of being anything more than what Power Line describes: a go-along, get-along careerist who works within the Democratic machine. This answers the silly McSame theme from the Democrats, who claim that McCain voted with his party 90% of the time (actually 88%) during the Bush administration. Obama voted with his party 97% of the time.

Team McCain needs a parallel theme to this, because while this spot is effective, it may be a little too subtle. New spots should demand an answer to this question: What has Barack Obama ever accomplished, as a reformer and as a “post-partisan”? With Sarah Palin on the ticket, John McCain can answer both questions with solid track records. Obama, on the other hand, can only point to some nice speeches he gave.

Palin's Prayer Not Complete

ABC Misrepresents Palin Quote in ‘Holy War’ Question

Some of you have seen this. Last week, Palin was on ABC's Charlie Gibson
show. He asked her this.

In the interview, Gibson asked Palin: “You said recently in your old
church, ‘Our national leaders are sending U.S. soldiers on a task that is from
God.’ Are we fighting a Holy War?”

Palin’s response, which appears in the transcript but was edited out
of the televised version, was:

“You know, I don’t know if that was my exact quote.”

“It’s exact words,” Gibson said.

---Except that Gibson leaves out a very important bit she said just before that. And after helps with the context.

“Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right.
Also for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders are sending them
out on a task that is from God. That’s what we have to make sure that we’re
praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God’s plan.”

The edited televised version included a partial clip of that quote, but
not the whole thing.

“Gibson cut the quote — where she was clearly asking for the church TO PRAY
THAT IT IS a task from God, not asserting that it is a task from God.

“Palin’s statement is an incredibly humble statement, a statement that
this campaign stands by 100 percent, and a sentiment that any religious American
will share,” Bounds wrote.

In the rest of the segment that aired, Palin told Gibson that she was
referencing Abraham’s Lincoln’s words on how one should never presume to know
God’s will. She said she does not presume to know God’s will and that she was
only asking the audience to “pray that we are on God’s side.”

A promo posted on Yahoo! News Friday continued to misrepresent the
exchange. It displays Palin’s image next to the words, “Iraq war a ‘holy war?’”
implying that Palin — not Gibson — had called the War on Terror a holy
war.

---Praying that you hope that what you are doing is God's will is different than saying THAT it is God's will. As a religious person, I can see the distinction, so I can accept the explanation. I can also understand the misunderstanding because it seems that is could be unclear. Much ado about nothing? Or another Palin attempt to form a theocracy? Media bias?

No Fist Bumps For McCain on The View.

McCain Gets Grilled on ‘The View’ Over Palin

If John McCain was hoping to cruise through his fifth appearance on “The
View,” he was in for a surprise Friday.

Within seconds of walking on the set, the Republican presidential
nominee was grilled by the co-hosts of the ABC morning show over his choice of
Sarah Palin as running mate and his claims that together they will reform
Washington.

“I don’t see the old John McCain who used to buck the system as much, I
understand why. You want to get elected,” said co-host Joy Behar.

----I can't stand Joy Behar. She just has an awful attitude. No love for McCain. And no love lost from McCain, I'm sure.

“I’m the same person that I always was,” McCain answered.

Behar also accused McCain of spreading “lies” in his latest TV ads, one
of which accused Barack Obama of smearing Palin by using the phrase “lipstick on
a pig.”

“You yourself used the same expression,” co-host Barbara Walters
said.

McCain used that expression last year to describe Hillary Clinton’s
health care policies.

---I don't know that Obama meant the comment as a direct attack on Sarah Palin, but was it lies McCain was spreading by bringing it up? Surely, the timing of Obama's comment leaves some need for judgement, and the audience seemed to think it was at least an indirect comment against Palin, but I think this was taken way out of proportion. By both sides.

Co-host Whoopi Goldberg also questioned Palin’s faith, asking him if he believes in separation of church and state.

“Sure,” McCain said.

“So if you believe in the separation of church and state,” Goldbert followed up, “did it not give you a moment of pause that Sarah Palin, should God forbid anything happen to you, not have the same beliefs that you do about these things?”

---This is such an unecessary attack by Goldberg to insinuate that Palin is going to establish some sort of theocracy (a country run with rules from God- like in Israel's early history) if McCain dies. this is such a pointless comment except to put down the religious faith of someone in politics. (How dare someone conservative AND religious enter the public square) However, this is not nearly as ridiculous as what came out of Goldberg's mouth later in the show, according to this report.

Later asking about McCain’s strict interpretation of the Constitution, she added: “Should I be worried about being a slave and being returned to slavery? Because certain things happened in the Constitution that had to change.”

“I understand your point,” McCain said.

---That was the polite way to say, "Are you out of your mind?!?! When celebrities start political things, particularly from the left, they start sounding really silly, sometimes. Many times. Folks, don't let your babies grow up to be celebrities.

Here's a link to an article by Jonah Goldberg suggesting that Obama's ad about McCain is not accurate. Be sure to check it out.

Few points I enjoyed- Part of the reason McCain doesn't use computer for email (and typing) is that those who held him captive broke fingers and caused damage to McCain's arms as well. Therefore, it is a laborious task for McCain to type like many of us.

--McCain was actually named, by Forbes magazine in 2000, "Senate's savviest technologist." I'm not sure what it means but it doesn't seem like a label for someone that doesn't know what he's doing with computers.
