No Fences

"Don't ever take a fence down until you know the reason it was put up." This quote was referenced to G.K. Chesterton.

Even though we think sometimes we are blocked from someone or something by some fence, sometimes it could be a good thing. It would be wise to not go barreling over it, until you find out what lurks behind it. This seemed to me to be an interesting quote. Any comments?

***Note: Someone I sent an email to regarding my blog was talking with my wife about not having time to check out the blog even though I sent two emails. I probably wouldn't have time if I were working and going to school and trying to be an active part of my family. Don't feel bad if you can't read my measly blog every day, or week.

Would I like more people to be interested? Sure. But I have been ignored enough through my life to know that not everyone will find me interesting. :-) (I know it may sound like it could be manipulative, but it is not meant that way-it is meant as semi-comedic commentary) Even if I can get my friends or family to check it out does not mean they will return. I know this. I am not hurt. The only ones under any obligation to check it out are my wife and my mom. :-)

Derrick, I would say...don't take it personally. People are very busy with lots of things and don't necessarily have the time to do more than send a couple of emails, or research a project. Not only that, but by the time they get a chance to get online, they are mentally worn out and may not have the energy to respond to some of your intellictual topics. At least you are getting visitors to the blog.

Hi Derrick, this is your mom. And yes it has taken me some time to figure out how to get to your site and acually be able to make a comment. You've done a great job on everything that you've written. I'll keep reading and figuring things out. This will be a great communication tool. Luff u momma
