Happy Groundhog's Day

Well, today is an important day. It is the day when Puxatawney Phil (or his brother) comes out of his hole and lets us know if there is going to be six more weeks of winter.

And even more important than a groundhog somehow knowing that the existance of his shadow is an accurate meteorological sign (guess it couldn't be worse than most weathermen (and women), it is my beautiful wife and I's anniversary.

We have been married for 4 wonderful years. And that is not because she will be reading this. It has been great to be ableto spend time with a great friend, and support that I happen to find very attractive. I cannot imagine spending my life with a better woman for me. (and husbands, hopefully you consider the same for your wives).

I remember hearing the best way to kindle the flame of love for your wife as it seems to start to go out, or things are getting routine. He said, "Remember Your Vows." I can agree that that helps to fan that flame, though I can honestly say (not just because my wife and famly is reading this) that it has not felt routine yet.

I think we are crazy and weird. But we try to consider it an "hahh" moment when we see each other. What I mean is this: when you are a kid at Christmas and you just opened a present that you have been wanting and waiting for for a long time, you have a sense of wonder that you actually got it...hahh. The same goes for when I see my wife. I still feel like I get to open a present I never thought I'd get; but everyday., for the rest of my life. How cool is that?

Well, enough of that mushiness...:-) To all the other married folks, no matter how long you have been married, Remember Your Vows -remember the reasons you married in the first place, remember that you promised to love even when you don't "feel like it"--it happens, (and to anybody who cares about another-could even be a "regular" family member), consider them a gift that you are lucky enough to have. We never know when they'll be gone from our lives. God bless.

Happy Anniversay, sweetie,
Derrick

Tracy and Derrick,
Happy Anniversary. This old man was going to call you and say so yesterday, but wanted to leave you two lovebirds alone on your special day. I know I have been a pain at times, and sometimes hard to read. What is easy to read and never changers or falters is the fact that I love you both very much. I am ever so proud of what you have accomplished in such a short time. When you love your partner so much, it gives you that extra energy to make great strides. Believe me, I know! On another subject, I also saw my shadow yesterday, and it was a big one. That means six more weeks of winter and a need for exercise and diet on my part. Continue to love each other, respect each other, and be blessed in what The Lord provided to you. You two are way cool cats...

Luv Ya, Dad
